A floating ball valve is a valve with seat supported ball that is pushed by upstream pressure towards the downstream seat to ensure sealing. The DN of the floating ball valves range is limited by the capability of seat’s material to support the pressure, temperature and weight of the ball.
A trunnion ball valve is a form of quarter-turn valve which uses a hollow, perforated and fixed/supported ball to control flow through it. The ball rotates without moving on the horizontal axis, where as seats are floating. A trunnion mounted valve means that the ball is constrained by bearing and only allowed to rotate. Advantages of trunnion ball design are the lower operating torque, ease of operation, minimized seat wear. Superior sealing performance at both high and low pressure.
PTFE lined ball valve is designed for general service applications up to the limits of the ANSI 150 pressure class rating. The ball shaft in center can be optionally connected to a pneumatic/electric actuator over an adapter or equipped with a manually operated lever. The design of this floating ball valve will have increased breakaway torques required from the actuator. Ball is sealed in the PTFE lined body with exchangeable seat rings – PTFE. It can be assembled with a pneumatic, electric, hydraulic, or electro-hydraulic actuator
